OUR BACK STORY

I’ve always LOVED fashion and music. Growing up, I tried my best to stay up-to-day on fashion trends specifically streetwear, which was often energized by the rap, r&b and the hip hop culture. Once I became a Christian, my love for music and fashion remained, but it was fueled driven by biblical purpose.

A few years ago, I fulfilled a dream of mines, by obtaining an MBA from Sam Houston State. GO BEARKATS! Although my husband and I were already owners of a Christian CHH record company, BMC Musick, I knew that God had more in store for us.

My name is HARVEST! I’m a wife, mother, minister, entrepreneur, Christian singer/rapper and most importantly daughter and lover of God!

I struggled with confidence as a youth but when I came to Christ, He gave me a confidence and boldness that could have only come from Him. As I grew in God, the timidity, shyness, and low-self esteem, that I long battled with slowly began to dwindle. My confidence and God-esteem began to grow! I was now confident not only in my relationship with God but also in my physical appearance (including all of the features that I previously thought were flawed and that made me self-conscious). I was now unashamedly, unapologetically a “JESUS GIRL“!

As time went on, I noticed that I was putting more emphasis on making sure my wardrobe was amazing as opposed to making sure that my spiritual attire was. So I re-shifted and re-prioritized my focus. I began pursuing God more and more. In turn, He began showing me how to “doll up” my spirit, as I grew more and more spiritually.

Over the years, I noticed that a lot of Christian women struggled with this very same thing. In 2021, a member of DFW Lights, a ministry that my husband and I founded, heard a bar from one of the songs we created where I mentioned “Militant Barbies” and he said that God might be calling me to use that and to brand it. At that moment, I knew it was God speaking to me through him!

So, I decided to start a brand and a community of women just like me. Women who understood the importance of their walk with God and wanted to grow closer to Him. Women who loved fashion and looking good but above all, wanted to become the woman that God has called for them to be. My mission is to help women live boldly for God, walk in confidence and look great doing it. Militant Barbies is committed to helping women do just that through community and by creating premium, trendy, modern, Christian merchandise. It’s more than a brand. Its a movement. Its deeper than fashion.
